The Second Annual Atlantic Coast Championship was held at Lavalette Yacht Club June 18-19, 1955. Bill Nexsen aboard the "Glue Pot" won the regatta with consistent finishes across three races despite challenging conditions with fog and rain.

The editor explains that June's issue of the Bagpipe was not lost by the Post Office; rather, publication was postponed to avoid conflict with the Thistle Class Association Yearbook.

The Governing Board has established a Chartering Committee to assist Thistlers traveling long distances to National events. Herbert J. Mainwaring of Detroit has been named chairman of the committee.

Bill Timmis dominated the Dixie Invitational Thistle Regatta at Atlanta Yacht Club May 28-29, winning all three races by wide margins with 24 competitors. Frank Allcorn finished second and Walt Bauer third.

James McGregor of Shreveport won the Delta District Championship Regatta held on May 21-22 at Shreveport Yacht Club on Cross Lake. Twelve boats competed despite varied weather conditions.

Bob Englert, captain of Navy's Intercollegiate Sailing Team and winner of the Mid-Atlantic championship, is selling his Thistle "Aye Aye" (No. 424) after his graduation. He is getting married and will be on sea duty for 2-3 years.

Dick Gibbs won the frostbite series competition at Toledo Yacht Club on June 4-5, with Bill Nexsen and Neil Patzer in second place in the "Glue Pot," and Jim Holewinski in third.

Al Williams won the Seventh Annual New Jersey Governors Cup Regatta at Riverton Yacht Club with a clean sweep of all three races. The event featured poor conditions with Saturday drifting and rain, and Sunday's better winds.

Howard Robins won the Memorial Day Series at Red Dragon Canoe Club at Edgewater Park, N.J. with two victories and one second place. Dick Parker took second overall and Art Were finished third.

Fleet No. 1 reported on early season activities including warm-up races in May and cancellation of the full series due to high winds. The first races in June saw participation from fleet members and welcomed a new transfer.
