The Thistle National Championship has been rescheduled to August 25-27. The format will be decided by a four-race series rather than the traditional structure. Sails will be measured for the first time, and the Baltimore Y.C. will host the event with excellent facilities.

South Shore Y.C. (Fleet 16) started the regatta season on May 14-15 with nine Thistles competing. Dr. Clyde Gump won first with 22 points, followed by Emery O. Lange with 21 points, and W.R. Wagner in third with 18½ points.

The Chief Measurer has ruled that running back stays are not permitted. A list of measurement committee members has been appointed to assist the Chief Measurer across various locations.

Several amendments to the Thistle Class Association Constitution and By-Laws will be voted on at the Annual Meeting on August 25. Changes include new membership categories, dues structure, voting rules, racing restrictions, and sail purchase limitations.

Fleet 10 at Canandaigua Y.C. has five of eight boats racing in proxy through Frank LeBoutillier and George Bridgman, who are currently tied for first place.

Fleet #1 completed their Spring Series over Memorial Day weekend. Dick Shaw's Larry Breeks won with 43.2 points. The fleet organized a social Lobster Boil and welcomed a new member who purchased Wes Too from Edgewater Y.C.

Fleet #23 held two races on May 29th and 30th despite being busy with OICYC Regatta planning. Harold Dysert and Bob Fletcher each won one race, and the club received an extensive O.I.C.Y.C. program.

Fleet #3 is taking room reservations for the Lake Erie District Thistle Championship on July 23-24 at Sandusky. The fleet maintains its reputation for well-groomed boats and active competition.

Fleet #5 held a Memorial Day race won by Busa Seyfand and Bob Bollin on Bardy Bit. New arrivals have temporarily taken some boats out of commission, but the fleet expects to travel en masse to the Lake Erie District Championship.

Fleet #13 held the Asher Pier Memorial Race on May 8th with Art Prager winning first place on Amiga. The fleet also organized a mountain breakfast celebration with bacon, eggs, and donuts.

A recent race showed a new name in first place with Lantz's Windy winning, while Emory Kamp's Nature Boy took second and Harvey Bush's Man Too placed third.

The annual Frostbite Sweepstakes regatta was held at Toledo Y.C. on June 11-12 with thirteen Thistles competing. Barney Barnett won first place, with Doc Keller and George Butts tying for second, and Bill Swalbert in third.

The secretary's office has issued authority for Fleet #22 to interpret their charter as applying to Boston Harbor and surrounding areas. A new name for the fleet has not yet been announced.

Twenty-five new members have been added to the mailing list this month, the largest monthly addition yet. This brings the total mailing list to 422. Boat numbers have been issued up to 449 with very few open numbers remaining.

The Secretary has received charter applications from Shreveport Y.C. in Louisiana and the Barnegat Bay Area in New Jersey. Shreveport is expected to receive Charter #26 for Cross Lake, and Barnegat Bay Area is expected to be Fleet #27 covering multiple New Jersey locations.
